I love the work of Katie Mitchell, particularly her production of Cleansed at The National Theatre.

What, for you, makes a good piece of art?
Something that stays with it’s audience long after it’s finished.
What have been your career highlights so far?
An immersive production called The Sound Affect, which was launching a new product from Ikea and Sonos.
If you were cast away on a desert island, which 5 plays would you take with you and why?
Well, assuming I wasn’t alone on the island I would create new work! I’d read Angels in America and The Inheritance, because they both offer hope and escape.
Please can you tell us what you would say to emerging artists to encourage them to take their work on the road or join an ETT tour?
Touring is essential. It brings theatre to different spaces, different cultures and most importantly, new audiences.

If you could have any superpower, which would you choose?
I’d love to be able to freeze things! I bit like Elsa from Frozen.

Jack is a five time Off West End nominee for best lighting design and a What’sOnStage Award nominated lighting designer who works across a broad range of theatre and opera, including productions with Trafalgar Studios, Arcola Theatre, and Leicester Curve.He has also won the LIT award for his design on Judy! at the Arts Theatre and the ETC Award in 2014.
