I have a few printed pictures of my friends and family that I take with me.

Southampton

What gem did you discover on tour with ETT (could be a landmark/park/cafe/pub etc)?

Wonkey Donkey donkey sanctuary near Doncaster

What are your touring essentials?

Yoga mat, crystals, and a bottle of sriracha

What’s your go-to recipe whilst on tour?

Lentil bolognese. Or a salad.

Touring is important because it brings theatre to more audiences, making it more accessible.

"Always remember, you are braver than you believe, smarter than you seem, and stronger than you think" - A A Milne

Which artist(s) do you most admire and why?

At the moment, Bong Joon Ho. He made a movie he wanted to make, without catering to the western world.

What music inspires you?

Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album. I like to remember the situation they were in when they wrote and made it.

What piece of writing or quote inspires you?

“Always remember, you are braver than you believe, smarter than you seem, and stronger than you think” – A A Milne

What, for you, makes a good piece of art?

Something that doesn’t force you to think. Or where you can enjoy it as a separate thing, and THEN later think about it and learn from it.

What have been your career highlights so far?

Two Trains Running was my first big job after graduating last year, so that.

If you were cast away on a desert island, which 5 plays would you take with you and why?

The musical, Fun Home. I came out of that show a different person. A Monster Calls, because it’s such a lovely story. I saw a production of His Dark Materials in maybe 2008? And it blew my mind. Probably the first play I remember. I recently saw a play called “one in two” by Donja R Love in New York which was REALLY cleverly done, and the lesson it taught at the end was really poignant. And probably a Disney musical, likely Newsies, just because it’s some easy joy.

Please can you tell us what you would say to emerging artists to encourage them to take their work on the road or join an ETT tour?

Touring is such a great way to see more places, an excuse to travel! ETT were so involved and we saw them a lot through the tour, once a week someone came up to see us.

Window or aisle seat?

Window

Favourite way to travel?
