The Caretaker

By Harold Pinter

‘Gari Jones's production for English Touring Theatre is very funny indeed.’ The Guardian
‘It seems to me ETT has once again come up a winner.’ Birmingham Post
‘ETT’s production is just about as good as it gets.’ The Stage
‘…an absolute must-see show...’ Manchester on Stage

The Caretaker is one of the undisputed masterpieces of the twentieth century. At once effortlessly funny, deeply moving and disturbingly sinister, it has been hailed as Pinter’s greatest play.

The homeless tramp Davies is given a place in a boarding house by Mick and his brother Aston. What follows is a baffling, comical, desperate struggle for territory.

Gari Jones directs The Caretaker, fresh from directing Harold Pinter’s Monolouge for the Almeida Theatre at the Lincoln Center in New York. Gari Jones is Pinter’s Associate Director and worked on the recent production of The Caretaker in the West End.
