Candida Ronald

Candida is our Head of Finance. Prior to joining ETT, she spent six years as the Bush Theatre’s Head of Finance and before that was Interim Executive Director for Spread the Word. She began her career in the arts working in marketing, mainly for dance companies, including Sadler’s Wells, Richard Alston Dance Company and Dance Umbrella. In her other life she has been a Labour Councillor in Tower Hamlets since 2014 and is currently Cabinet Member for Resources and the Voluntary Sector.

Merce Cunningham, for always pushing at the boundaries of his art, for refusing to stand still, and, from that constant reinvention, producing perfect works of dance.

I first discovered the Cunningham Dance Company while working at Sadler’s Wells. I didn’t expect to love it like I did; as a result, I spent the next 15 years angling to find ways to be involved with Merce’s visits to London. Such a privilege and an instance of where great art can alter your world. That’s why touring is so important – wherever you are you should have the opportunity to be inspired, transported and transformed by art and artists.
