Pink Sari Revolution

Adapted for the stage by Purva Naresh

‘a blood-stirring rallying cry against injustice.’ The Time
‘Powerfully authentic drama.’ The Stage
‘scorching truths from fight against patriarchy.’ The Guardian

Instantly recognisable in their blazing pink saris and for campaigning for women’s rights both in India and on an international stage, this true story follows the gang’s investigation into why a young girl has been thrown into prison in the dead of night.

Created by a unique collaboration of Indian, British Asian and international artists led by Curve Associate Director Suba Das (Ravi Shankar’s Sukanya, Wipers, Abigail’s Party) with award-winning, Leicester-based choreographer Aakash Odedra, Pink Sari Revolution fuses together drama, music and movement to retell the powerful and moving story of one girl’s imprisonment, and one woman’s fight for her freedom.

A Curve, Belgrade Theatre Coventry and West Yorkshire Playhouse co-production in association with English Touring Theatre.
